I had an enjoyable dining experience at Piccolina Woodfire Pizza and can’t recommend it more highly! I tried their Mushroom Truffle Pasta in a Woodfire Pizza Bowl, and wow, it delivered on every level. The pasta was perfectly cooked, rich with sautéed mushrooms and laced with truffle oil elegant and indulgent. The genius twist: the pasta was served inside an edible woodfired pizza bowl. That pizza crust bowl added another texture dimension and made the dish feel extra special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting; you could tell the chef and team cared about the craft. Friendly service, attention to detail and a relaxed vibe made this place perfect for a treat or a special outing. ~ Amilliah

This was my first time coming here and I was very happy and impressed with the food and service and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and respectful. I ordered a gluten free La Bomba, which was delicious and you could tell just how fresh the ingredients were and that they were of high quality. My nephew ordered a Margherita, he loved the cheese and the pizza sauce. The pizza dough was cooked really well on both pizzas and there was even consistency with the cooking. I also had two flatwhite coffees which were made really and were delicious. I would highly recommend Piccolino and I look forward to coming again. ~ K P

A great authentic Italian place. Food Ordered: 💕 Antipasto - olives, mozzarella sticks, deep fried croquettes, mushroom truffle bruschetta, focaccia slices, salami, mortadella and cheese 💕 Gnocchi bolognese 💕 Mushroom truffle tagliatelle Spaghetti bolognese in a bowl (signature dish) 💕 La bomba pizza The antipasto - chef’s kiss 💋. The pastas were delicious and the pizza, loved it! Everything was made with love. The service was great, felt just like dinner at nonnas. We were visiting from Adelaide on holiday celebrating our anniversary last night and had came across Piccolini online – and are so glad we did! The food was absolutely incredible! The porchetta pizza was the best we’ve ever had, and the pasta served in a pizza bowl was unique & delicious. Andrea was so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We also loved the cosy, vibrant vibe of the place. Highly recommend – this was such a memorable meal on our trip and will definitely return the next time we are in Melbourne! ~ Kate J

The restaurant is as welcoming as the food, the staff are understanding and very kind. If I could I would give more stars, the dough is delicious, I ate a whole pizza by myself it was so delicious. I would eat there more often, but I'm returning to Brazil for my father's health reasons. I hope they have all the success and happiness, as well as resilience, because I know that work like this in Melbourne can be a bit exhausting sometimes (Lots of competition, but even so, for me it doesn't come close to this homemade pizzeria). ~ Luciano C

Highly recommend this excellent owner operated Italian restaurant in the heart of Fitzroy North after eating here for a 2nd time. Andrea - the owner is so friendly, genuine, welcoming & accomodating. No drama about Gluten Free Pizza or adding ingredients to a Pizza. PLUS we had THE most delicious & fresh salad as an entree. The food is extremely generous & very well priced as is the delicious wine. Wonderful authentic Italian music in the background. Thank you Andrea & your team. I randomly Googled "best wood fire pizza in Melbourne" and this place came up. Even though it was a late Sunday night and they were not far off closing, they let us come by for a pizza after an outing in the city. Not only did it come out within 5 minutes of ordering, but it was AMAZING! Such a good pizza (I had the La Bomba with added mushrooms and truffle oil and my daughter had a margerita with extra cheese). The owner was so nice and was happy to have a chat. One of the best pizza and pasta restaurants in Melbourne!! I ordered the Mushroom Truffle add Italian Sausage and OMG the flavours were honestly incredible, we also got the Italian Stallion Pizza which was also another Incredible dish. First time dining I dined with my partner, and now I bring my family and even my extended family whenever we/they feel like some authentic Italian food. Stellar quality dough, crispy, leapoard print! I loved it, probably the best pizza base i have had. Excellent value, not expensive. The toppings were really tasty, well seasoned and good quality- i got a kind of margherita and the pork and fennel. The only thing i would say is, for my taste, the tomato sauce needed a bit more tomato. I will be ordering again, maybe get the marg with cherry tomatoes? ~ Chris T

GENUINE REVIEW. I’m new to Melbourne and felt like some nice woodfire pizza. saw this restaurant came here and ask for a nice pizza with a bit chilli. MATE THIS PIZZA WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. If YOU are reading this you need to try it!!! The service was OUTSTANDING, customer service MIND BLOWING, took 5mins for pizza to get ready. The tomato sauce felt like it came right from heaven! went here on the first night out of lockdown! it was v busy with both eat-in and takeaway but the customer service was consistently wonderful. i worked in hospitality for many years and commend how well they handled such a HUGE rush of people! the food was delicious as well. we had the norma pasta (eggplant based) and duck ragu both of which were so yummy! we're locals in the area and im so glad we got the chance to dine here. ~ sofia g

BEST DISCOVERY IN FITZROY NORTH! Casually pass by on a Sunday afternoon, walk in 'cause I was craving some pasta n pizza, had the wild boar home made tagliatelle, they were delish!!! I'm raised n born in Italy, traveling around Aus, so for me it's really difficult to find good authentic Italian food, I wasn't disappointed, this place is a must go ;) Per gli italiani consigliatissimo! Great Pizza! Great Pasta! Amazing Staff!! We regularly enjoy Piccolino takeaway - the food is outstanding. The homemade gnocchi is light, the pizza toppings are generous (not oily) and the Spag Bowl is a hit with our kids (spaghetti bolognese served in a pizza base bowl). The highlight of every order is chatting with AJ and Andrea :) As the pizza boxes say... “Made with Love”. Highly recommend!! ~ Elle H

Back in lockdown and the only thing that put a smile on my face was the delicious take away food I ordered from Piccolino last night, the potato head pizza and margarita pizza that I ordered was the BEST pizza I have ever eaten! My new local pizza place. Great quality ingredients, dough is fantastic (perfect bubbly crust), service is great on the phone and the food is always ready exactly when they say it will be ready. It was only just after they had opened and we had an abundance of choice of where to sit. The weather was amazing; sunny and just warm enough to sit outside and enjoy an Aperol Spritz… or 10. We were lucky to be served by the owner, Andrea, who was most knowledgeable, super funny and sooo welcoming. We felt really confident that we were happy for him to choose for us what to eat. And it was a great decision. He can also be your cheese bae - if you watched our stories on Insta, you know! We started off with an antipasto platter – think truffle cheese, olives in a cheese bowl (wow), suppli with lemon butter and the highlight of the dish – torta al testo – homemade bread with cheese and prosciutto – amazing. They have even imported a special oven from Perugia to make these. Super unique. The pasta is the freshest you can have – the gnocchi are made with ricotta and they are the fluffiest most delicious pieces of heaven you could ever have. Finish off your dinner with a delicious Nutella Panacotta. It seriously packs a lot of flavor. ~ Edible M
